Dual rated, UK, US & Canadian ATPL....wants to get into corporate

How the h*ll does one do it??

Military trained.... over 6000 hrs TT, mostly multi-crew, multi-turbine & IFR with about a 50/50 split fixed & rotary. Have no jet time though....and thus no useful type ratings. Any suggestions of European or Canadian companies that would consider someone with my background? Would love a job that would let me fly both fixed & rotary. All (helpful!) suggestions appreciated!

I can't speak to Eur & Can (although it's probably the same) in the USA it has always been heavy on the networking (who you know) and "right place right time" kind of thing. However, there are other avenues like getting out and knocking on doors and making phone calls. Sometimes one thing leads to another to another to a job.

There are some websites out there that can be helpful like Avcrew.com. Also the world seems to be shifting to managed aircraft so websites like Tag, Jet Aviation, Jet professionals & Netjets can lead one to a contact. You can always send a resume and call the chief pilot.

Bottom line you have to start making contacts and be persistant and with a little luck it will happen.

Thanks for the info. US is out - not a resident there and no one is going to sponsor a foreigner for a work permit. Have learned that over the past 7 years.......

Have applied to NetJets Europe, but no response yet.

In the absence of mixed, then just getting to a corporate/charter jet would be OK. Problem seems to be the lack of a useful type rating....and I'm not 20.....
