You could try Jet Connection in Frankfurt but realistically I think your best bet will be Flightsafety Atlanta

Strongly recommend you go to the SIM for any such type rating.

Training and Type rides in actual aircraft are in my humble opinion mostly a waste of time as the 'manouevers' one can explore are restricted by safety issues. You can screw up royally in the SIM and still learn something.

I do know the expenses argument, but professional training is priceless and will give you much more confidence in the aircraft and your knowledge of it.

Good Luck, its a nice piece of kit!

Friend of mine flies one for an european company. They operate according JAR's and do their ratings in the USA. One F/O just came back - has spent one month over there for training with FlightSafety. There is a small need for a few Lear 60 crews within Germany/Austria as far as i know. Do you have a particular company in mind ?

I would go for Bombardier/Simuflite in DFW; Had my rating 2 years ago, nice staff and alot cheaper than flight safety.

Greetings from Austria

the problem with Simuflite is that their Simulators are not approved by the german authorities (LBA). So he even has to go to FSI or do it on the plane.
If he is to work with Cirrus it has to be an approved Simulator.

Red face

@flugfisch

would you mind sharing more information about cirrus. Am I correct, one has to pay for the typ rating? What would be the pay then? Just a rough figure would be great.

Imho no one should pay for a type rating.
