Type Ratings

I am unfamiliar with the bizjet world. Can anyone please answer the following questions:

1)Do people generally pay for their own type ratings ?

2)What is the market currently like for newly type rated guys/girls?

3)What type rating is likely to be in greatest demand in the near future?

All your thoughts would be welcome on the above.

There seem to be lot of openings on heavier types like G4,Challenger and large Falcons. I would expect employer to pay your training for the type. Too expensive and "risky" to pay yourself , until you have a guaranteed job for years to come...
