Coventry Gulfstream V

Does anyone know of any recruitment activity on a GV based at Coventry? Nobody seems to stick around long. What is the problem?

Not heard anything on recruitment for this operation recently but they seem to go through crew at an alarming rate.

The Chief Pilot is in the habit of Type Rating new recruits, making their life hell and then chasing them through the courts when they hand in their notice. The latest victim is in Manchester High Court next week (13 May 2004) where Dennis Vanguard are trying to recover their Bond to the tune of £50,000. I wonder what the aircraft owners will think if they lose

It may be worth setting a list of bad operators to be avoided.

I start with N54PR.

If you check out the notes on the court case the £50k includes hotels, flights, car hire, meals (and probably the bar bill) and even salary. Not my idea of a Bond but I guess the devil is in the detail if you’ve signed on the dotted line.

I believe there may be some press interest in this case so should make interesting reading if it makes the tabloids.

I wonder what the Aviation Authorities would make of all this?”

Usually, people in the know keep very quiet about this special operation.
Special because the owner is.
I'm afraid nobody here at PPRuNe will disclose the identity of the owner.
VP-BKZ destinations include Bordeaux (nice castles there...), Geneva, USA, Germany and even China.

Owner special????? Wasn't when I've flown them, the only thing special here is the millions ££££££ made from the electrical business and the planes it can buy.
As for the boss of the operation he runs a VERY tight ship and takes NO sh*t from anyone, there are no second chances to those who cross his path.
You either perform and do it his way or its OUT. Anyone who wants to work there must bear this in mind, its not negotiable.
I actually got on quite well with the boss and found him firm but fair; but I was only a freelancer and don't smoke............

The aircraft tends to spend more time at Birmingham (EGBB) than just down the road at Coventry (EGBE) these days

Doesn't seem that long ago that he had the G3, then he briefly had a G4SP, before getting the G5 (& rumoured to be a G550 on the way)

What are the criteria for FO/co-pilot? Anyone know if they are likely to be recruiting for this role?
