Herod 27th March 2012 14:00

Sorry for late reply, was in bed too. Yep, the Wright Flyer it was. Skytrain10 says Open House

Lightning Mate 28th March 2012 09:13

Quiet innit! :uhoh:

Tankertrashnav 28th March 2012 10:41

Yawn - stretch

OK - airfield (closed)

In Hamburg, for example, please expand.

Lightning Mate 28th March 2012 11:04

UK.......?

Tankertrashnav 28th March 2012 11:51

Yes, in the UK.

Lightning Mate 28th March 2012 11:54

I thought it would be mate.

for example
I deduced that was EG, as in UK ICAO designators.

So I ruled out Egginton.

On the other hand, I wonder if its' designator starts with X......

Tankertrashnav 28th March 2012 13:41

Forget about EG - and no idea what its designator is/was!

Lightning Mate 28th March 2012 13:44

Try here then....

NutherA2 28th March 2012 14:39

Bitteswell? Geöffnete Haus

Lightning Mate 28th March 2012 14:43

At least that starts with an X. :)

Tankertrashnav 28th March 2012 17:23

Sehr gut, A2!

(In Hamburg, for example, please - bitte, expand - swell)

OH has been offered (for the non-linguists among us!).

Herod 28th March 2012 17:37

I'll take the OH if I may, since I'll be out of it for a while after Friday. "Bird, with hesitation, meets deer" Manufacturer and aircraft.

NutherA2 28th March 2012 22:25

Hawker Hart, perhaps?

Herod 29th March 2012 12:05

Too easy, wasn't it? Right of course. All yours. I'm going to the woods in Sweden, no TV, no internet, lots of fresh air and exercise.

NutherA2 29th March 2012 18:30

Thanks Herod, have a good holiday; OH

Lightning Mate 30th March 2012 09:58

Morning. :)

Tankertrashnav 3rd April 2012 16:08

Has everyone gone away?

Try this one - aircraft

Pilot from North of the Border in the early days, perhaps

(Manufacturer and type)

NutherA2 3rd April 2012 22:17

Scottish Aviation Pioneer?

Tankertrashnav 4th April 2012 08:37

Very appropriate given your location , A2. Had one trip up country in Malaya in a Pioneer. The pilot demonstrated what it was like with all the flaps down - like flying in a tunnel. Even the overloaded trucks on the road below were overtaking us!

Over to you.

NutherA2 4th April 2012 13:52

Thanks TTN,

I’d never heard of this aircraft until I came across its name today;it’s a bit convoluted, but devoted anagram solvers might enjoy it:

Manufacturer and Aircraft.

The makers’ riding disaster was solved when they tried using rasher nags.
