G'day mate. Feeling lonely? :)

Initially fooled (easily done), I thought it was a single-engine jet, but there is another at far left separated by a tailcone heat shield (unusual colour?)?

No hint of an arrester hook (Phantom)......so maybe the McDonnell F-101Voodoo?

Harley Quinn 22nd June 2012 22:57

No maybe about it, it is the hot end of an F-101B Voodoo.

Your thread

Noyade 22nd June 2012 23:15

Learjet 23?

SincoTC 23rd June 2012 16:41

Hi HQ,

I'm busy at the moment so not looking for this, but take a peek at Noyade's comment under the picture of Lawrence Wackett on the last page of Silhouette Challenge ;)

Ta, don't look at SC cos I'm not clever enough.

TBH was dipping a toe, my alternate was an early SH-2.

The wool tufts make me think that this one didn't actually make it into service though.
