Front end, the background is the structure of the building in which the craft is housed. It is not a Junkers Test Bed.

Noyade 5th June 2012 12:00

Wing-tip jet?

MReyn24050 5th June 2012 19:30

Not a wing-tip jet Graeme

Kitbag 5th June 2012 19:39

You say 'craft', is this an airship? Goodyear Blimp perhaps?

MReyn24050 5th June 2012 22:13

No it is not an airship.

Noyade 5th June 2012 22:16

Evening Mel. Is it a pulse-jet?

MReyn24050 5th June 2012 22:31

Hi Graeme.
It certainly is a Pulse-Jet engine.

Kitbag 5th June 2012 22:40

JB-2 Loon?

MReyn24050 6th June 2012 00:03

Not the JB-2 Loon but built for a similar purpose but not German.

Karlark 6th June 2012 02:09

Is it the Northrop JB-10, then?

MReyn24050 6th June 2012 23:17

You have it Karlark, sorry for the delay.

Noyade 7th June 2012 06:32

Looks like a Dugong fighting a Giant Squid. :)

German?

Karlark 7th June 2012 11:26

No, not a huge German manatee. (Had to look that up). :)

Kitbag 7th June 2012 19:37

'W' engined racer- Supermarine S5?

Karlark 7th June 2012 20:00

Evening Kitbag,

Not a Supermarine. Not British or German. The engine is a Hispano-Suiza V-12.

This particular aircraft was noted for a couple of achievements.

Karlark 8th June 2012 01:00

More clues:

Noted for being the first fixed winged aircraft to fly non-stop East to West from Paris to New York.

Around 2,700 of various models were built.

Noyade 8th June 2012 01:43

Thanks for the clues mate. :) Doesn't show your plumbers nightmare of pipes but it must be the Breguet XIX...?

Heading to work now, so open house if it is.

Karlark 8th June 2012 02:09

Yes it is the Breguet 19 :ok:.

I believe this is the Super Bidon model that made the trip:

Open House per Noyade's request.

Kitbag 8th June 2012 05:07

Apologies for the poor quality of this pic:
