Martin 156 Russian Clipper
|
It's a Clipper, but not from Martin. You've seen it a thousand times....
|
Is it called the P84?
|
No mate...What's a P84?
Famous flying boat. Had different tails.... |
Martin M-130 ?
Or maybe the M-176. |
Not from Martin.
The pilot in the silhouette flying-boat is Eddie Allen.... |
Then it must be a Boeing.
|
Boeing. |
I reckon it must be a twin tail experiment on the Boeing 314 Clipper before they settled for the triple tail
|
314 of some kind?
Willian T. Larkins collection pic. |
I started thinking that the twin-fin was a red herring….

TC,
Do you actually have a Sunday off today? |
Thanks mate, I thought it was the Boeing at first sight, but dismissed it 'coz the missing centre fin until all other manufacturers had been exhausted, only then did I look at the 314 again and found their experiments with different tail configurations!
Unfortunately it'll have to be an Open House as I have to go out for a couple of hours now! LM, Reg go for it! Edit: Do you actually have a Sunday off today? |
