Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 11:48

That looks like a flying boat 'nall.

Noyade 24th July 2011 11:51

G'day mate! :)

flying boat
Yep! Very famous one....

RegDep 24th July 2011 11:55

Martin 156 Russian Clipper

Noyade 24th July 2011 11:59

It's a Clipper, but not from Martin. You've seen it a thousand times....

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:02

Is it called the P84?

Noyade 24th July 2011 12:04

No mate...What's a P84?

Famous flying boat. Had different tails....

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:06

Martin M-130 ?

Or maybe the M-176.

Noyade 24th July 2011 12:07

Not from Martin.

The pilot in the silhouette flying-boat is Eddie Allen....

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:11

Then it must be a Boeing.

Noyade 24th July 2011 12:14

Boeing.
Correct...........

SincoTC 24th July 2011 12:15

I reckon it must be a twin tail experiment on the Boeing 314 Clipper before they settled for the triple tail

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:16

314 of some kind?

Willian T. Larkins collection pic.

RegDep 24th July 2011 12:17

I started thinking that the twin-fin was a red herring….

Noyade 24th July 2011 12:18

Boeing 314 Clipper
:ok: Your control mate! Trevor.....

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:22

TC,

Do you actually have a Sunday off today?

SincoTC 24th July 2011 12:27

Thanks mate, I thought it was the Boeing at first sight, but dismissed it 'coz the missing centre fin until all other manufacturers had been exhausted, only then did I look at the 314 again and found their experiments with different tail configurations!

Unfortunately it'll have to be an Open House as I have to go out for a couple of hours now! LM, Reg go for it!

Edit:

Do you actually have a Sunday off today?
I thought I did mate until five minutes ago!!:\:\

Lightning Mate 24th July 2011 12:27
