Slingsby Falcon ?
It is. Specifically a Falcon III modified as a flying boat for use by the Windermere branch of the ATC. Up to 2009 it survived in the Steam Boat Museum on Windermere but that closed " for refurbishment" in that year.

LM has control

....and thanks for saving me the effort of loading the original.

MReyn24050 23rd January 2011 17:53

Very similar to the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch or the Antonov OKA-38

evansb 23rd January 2011 17:56

Similar yes, but not identical. This is a post-war design.

RegDep 23rd January 2011 17:59

Would that make it Aero L-60 Brigadyr?

MReyn24050 23rd January 2011 18:04

Mráz K-65 Čáp perhaps?

SincoTC 23rd January 2011 19:56

Looks like it may have a Walter inline engine, so could it be the Hungarian R.18 Kanya ??

evansb 23rd January 2011 20:25

[I]SincoTC[I] is correct.:ok: The R.18 Kanya was designed by the father of the man who designed the Rubik's cube. Your control.

SincoTC 23rd January 2011 20:30

Thank you evansb,

I didn't know about the Rubik connection; its main design role was a glider tug.

Here's something a little faster!

RegDep 23rd January 2011 20:53

Something called Bisnovat Samolyot 5-1 (three gliding tests before crash). Or maybe 5-2 (16 gliding tests before abandoned. No powered flights).

Anyways, Bisnovat 5.

SincoTC 23rd January 2011 21:23

That's the one Reg,

The Bisnovatyi 5-2 rocket powered research aircraft of 1948

RegDep has control :ok:

RegDep 23rd January 2011 21:35

G'day Reg. Took a punt that they're the Ural Mountains in the background. Therefore Russian.
Is it the Tupolev PS-9?
