Dutch Connie due into Duxford today 14:18 local

Just spoke to Duxford who expect the Dutch Constellation to land at Duxford at 14:18 local TODAY (Wednesday). Plan is for it to depart for Manston tomorrow (then onto Holland) and it may not return to the UK in the future ... so see it while you can.

Take it you will be there Damien - hope you'll post some of your great pics here - sadly I can't get there, my only hope is that it routes close to Calais tomorrow while I'm there - fat chance, eh!

Cheers

Lovely jubbly! Thanks for the heads-up - I'll be hurtling past this evening about 1730, be great to see the old girl. She was arriving yesterday, but got held up before departure.

EGGW 25th Sep 2002 13:42

Any ideas what sort of time it departs tomorrow???? I'm working late afternoon, would love to see it depart though! :) :)

treadigraph 25th Sep 2002 13:56

Just read on WIX that she's only staying for an hour and a half or so and then pushing straight on to Manston...

Hope you get to see her...

Treadders...

Who has control? 25th Sep 2002 14:50

That means she'll be overhead me in a 10 mins - just as I leave work. Perfect!

Deeko01 25th Sep 2002 15:09

Is this the one that did a low approach and go-around at Prestwick today from Kelfavik???

N registered one tho wasnt dutch?!?!?

treadigraph 25th Sep 2002 15:20

Lucky sod! I'm still hoping to go to Manston in the morning and see it, if it's going to be there.

Reg is N749NL, presumably to enable it to fly. Think the Captain is Frank Lang who brought the MATS one over in '99.

DamienB 25th Sep 2002 15:34

She's due to depart Duxford any minute now I'm afraid... nightstopping at Manston - Duxford say that she *was* due to leave at 16:35 local but has been slightly delayed... however she's 'definitely' leaving this afternoon.

Never any guarantees with shaky old bits of kit like this though ;)

DamienB 25th Sep 2002 16:56

And here she is...

EGGW 25th Sep 2002 18:00

Drove like a man possesed to Duxford after Treadigraph's post. Fabulous machine, lovely departure and flypast. Get down to Manston, where it will be residing until Friday http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/cheers.gif

DamienB 25th Sep 2002 18:16

Well I hope the mobile camera team on the M11 didn't catch you on film then EGGW! Sods were sat on one of the bridges North of Duxford... think I slowed down in time though :)

EGGW 25th Sep 2002 19:48

I'll let ya know in 2 weeks :D No dodgy vans, but plenty of fixed cameras on the A505, luckily know where they all are !! http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/biggrin3.gif

Jhieminga 26th Sep 2002 07:43

Great pics Damien!

Hoping to see her when she arrives at Lelystad (EHLE) on saturday. In the meantime I'll just drool over your shots some more... ;)

Great pics

Nice one Damian,
Beautiful aircraft!
Are you taking those with a digital camera? Your Bruntingthorpe ones were decent quality too... I need to invest I think!!

DamienB 26th Sep 2002 10:46

Yes, digital - a Canon EOS D60.

Nopax,thanx 26th Sep 2002 12:14

Curses! She'd long gone by the time I went by - in retaliation, I shall watch no more Dutch videos until it comes back...

I believe the saying is 'Als je tandvlees maar lekker smaakt!'

Smashing pics, Damien - and I think the cameras are only for tax discs; they've been there for about ten days now. Time will tell, though, eh?????

Damien

Brilliant pics as usual.

Could you drop me a mail please. Need a favour.
