Frank Halford obviously gave Napier ideas. This is the gear train for a Napier Deltic engine.
Nothing to do with Halford actually, it was developed from a Junkers opposed-piston design. For those that aren't familiar with the engine, it's an 18 cylinder, 36 piston, 3 crankshaft, supercharged 2-stroke diesel. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a90f16583c.jpg |
