Batumi I think - to start with I thought it might be Gelendzhik but the mountains aren't that high there

Dear Chaps - I think it would be fair to call it a dead heat between Asturias and Descol - I can't penalise the latter for his splendid research and slow typing.......
The Aerodrome is Batumi - Georgia and the runway length is 2500 metres. Perhaps you would like to sort out the next challenge between yourselves?

What was the “Tennis” connection?
(other than the resemblance of a tennis skirt)

My first one was a 'standard' 1198 cc, then I got a '124S' which had a 1498 cc engine and was even faster.

Yes, the name Serena came to my mind, but I definitely do not want link her to your challenge. She was too good a tennis player for that.

QUAQ
Found Batumi having looked into Fabric Tent Structures
Didn't research "Knickers"
Over to You Asturias

Asturias56 11th Dec 2022 07:32

Thanks DESCOL and thanks to OUAQ - I agree its a draw!

I tried to Google the structure but made no progress then the clue "SE of Poland" sent me towards the Caucasus. I did some time working in and around Novorossiysk & Gelendzhik so it wasn't too hard to follow the coast around to the higher parts of the range.

I have a challenge which I will post tonight to avoid a ban

Asturias56 11th Dec 2022 16:46

Let us try this one - A bit different scenery from the last one!

I think it is not a real airport, when you search for “featureless airport scenery”, I only find Xplane airports…..
We will have to wait on your next clue.

teusje 11th Dec 2022 19:31

Just a stab in the dark, Causeway Airfield, Northern Ireland?

chevvron 11th Dec 2022 19:56

I can't even make out if that's a runway or a stretch of water in the background.

Asturias56 12th Dec 2022 07:40

“featureless airport scenery”, - ;) its hard to find a picture of this place that has ANY features whatsoever.

It isn't in N Ireland and there is a runway AND a stretch of water in the background

How about Dundee?

sycamore 12th Dec 2022 09:58

Think we did Dundee some time ago...

Asturias56 12th Dec 2022 11:53

No not Dundee - quite a nice airport but not much in the way of regular air services
