(twiddles thumbs and watches clock)

Well, the world is round you know and I sleep at different times to you, Al Sturias!
It is of course the mighty Mooney Mite. I did not know this type existed until I saw this one at Santa Monica ten years ago. It was immediately obvious from the fin that it must’ve been a baby Mooney. Open house. |
Ah but the Mods work on different hours again - I was handed 5 weeks on the bench at Christmas for doing what you've just done and I don't wish to trespass again
The 24 hours run on posted Board clock time - so you have to wait until 10:10 tomorrow on my machine before I declare a winner..................... and that is the person who actually named it |
Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the rule 24 hours from the original picture posting time? That 24 hours passed approximately five hours ago already.
|
Don`t Italian clocks go backwards...?
|
I waited until the hour hand had rotated twice!
However Noyade posted when I wasn’t watching, so I withdraw my OH. Time is an illusion and lunchtime doubly so. Douglas Adams. |
Don't believe I've ever seen one in Europe and a type I was unfamiliar with until I saw one at Albert Whitted Airport in Florida nearly 40 years ago. Oh look, a Mooney that's shunk in the wash...

a non-radial engined US aircraft of that vintage? How rare!!
Looks rather like Ryanairs M-1 - but it isn't |
A 2-cyl 60 hp motor.
Not a very well known American company but they did produce a very large twin-boom trimotor biplane bomber for the US Army. |
Ah got it! Never heard of company or aircraft; I'll hang back as I have nothing to offer and I'm sure somebody will apply the same Sherlockian principles to the clues as I did! Looks a delightful little flivver! I want one...
|
It is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a moth.
|
The trimotor had similarly pleasing-shaped fuselage(s) too.

The Butterfly Monoplane, designed by J. L. Cato
and manufactured by the L. W. F. Engineering Corporation. Open House if correct, as I have nothing to offer right now. |

Are we looking at a Bloch MB design? I suspect it was never made?
|
No. Not a Bloch MB design.
