DH Dove
Hi Daniel
I'm sure you know already, but we have a Mk6 and a Mk8 (neither airworthy regrettably) here at the de Havilland Aircraft Museum in UK. Link to Website attached Regards Alan Transport Aircraft ? Aircraft Categories ? de Havilland Aircraft Museum |
Hi Alan,
Thank you for sharing the link, I was aware and I follow your museum on facebook. I am quite familiar with AREA's sister ship EX ASMG from when she was in Australia, flew in her many times sadly now grounded in New Zealand. I would love some detailed photo's of the MK6 and the nose modifcations which I assume held photographic or filming equipment when it was used in germany. D-IFSA which was flying until recently appears to have the same mods though it has been painted over with the civil paint scheme. There is still a Dove tied down on the ramp at Chilliwack B.C.

I recently posted this on the RAF Chipmunk thread, in a piece of thread drift, but it definitely belongs here:

Hi, India Four Two
I have been trying to find more details on the Float Dove, the Photo in your post appears to be the only one of it on floats. Later converted back Cheers, Dan http://www.abpic.co.uk/images/images/1038019F.jpg |
Dan,
This is where I found the photo: THE AVIATION ANORAK: The De Havilland DH.104 Dove on Floats! DH.104 Dove 1 CF-DJH c/n 04015 The only Dove ever fitted with floats was a one off conversion for the Hudson Bay Company of Canada. It was then operated by S.J. Phillips as N91827 The aircraft was written off in Alaska 196 [sic] |
ZK-DHW ex VH-JGZ/DHQ project
Hi All,
It's with great excitement that we have launched a crowd funding page on kick starter with the aim of raising funds to purchase Dove 8 C/N: 04533 ZK-DHW. DHW is currently in storage but is complete including engines and avionics, we believe this will be an excellent candidate for an airworthy restoration. more details can be found at the link below. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...asmg-dunsfolds ; Cheers, Dan "If there is no struggle, there is no progress."
