Props:
Thank you for the reminder. The Captain was indeed Eric Roberts, a really nice man to fly with and a top class operator.
John Farley:
John, your observation is 100% correct, that sequence was filmed in a simulator. The 'simulator' headsets plus the high frequency background hum give the game away. The actual cockpit environment was not like that. As I remember, the attitude failure flags were a constant annoyance in the simulator and a sharp rap with a knuckle would usually clear them. Additionally, my wife's PA was patched in from a Trident 2 publicity promotion.

LAS1997:
I will definitely come to visit, maybe by air from EGLM international.

777fly: I suggest you check with TAG for the landing fee before you plan to visit by air!

EGLF Landing fee: 'Minimum charge for all fixed wing £410'. Think I will use my free bus pass.....

Yes it's a pity they never considered my suggestion for a 'recreational only' operation on what is now East Apron for people who don't need handling, transport direct to the aircraft etc. They have the number of movments available now; the 25,000 limit imposed by the local 'plannners' was one of the reasons my suggestion was ignored.

777fly; look forward to meeting you; you could of course land at nearby Blackbushe or Fairoaks. Blackbushe probably the better of the two.

Fairoaks might be cheaper but this would be offset by a slightly higher taxi fare!
