SincoTC 4th Feb 2012 14:09

I think that's a J-47 on a Boeing KC-97L Stratotanker or a possibly its predecessor the KB-50J ??

And now back to Kens' infuriating and elusive silhouette

J-79 in an engine test house?

SincoTC 4th Feb 2012 17:30

Hi HQ,

Sorry, it's niether of those :)

You have to believe what you see when I say that the engine is being removed by rolling on tracks on each side of the fuselage tunnel.

Noyade 4th Feb 2012 18:36

rolling on tracks on each side of the fuselage tunnel.
Mirage? With those rectangular "holes?"

There's no pulling the wool over your eyes mate, you see a mirage and you know it's real :D

In fact in the case of my image, the Atar 9B-3 turbojet is being removed from a Mirage IIIC for during restoration at a French museum (Conservatoire de l'Air et de l'Espace d'Aquitaine)

Noyade has control :ok:

Noyade 4th Feb 2012 19:10

Thanks Trevor.

I'll give you a race, see who finds this one first ( hopefully you - I forgot where I found it ). :)

Is it some sort of Hawker.... P.1035 or P.1040?
Just googling for bifurcated exhausts...:)

Noyade 5th Feb 2012 05:44

Hello Karlark. No mate. The jet engine is only about the size of a large microwave oven.
