Correct,Graeme. It is the Aermacchi/Yak-130.
YHC |
Thanks Terrence.
Lots of offshoots from those Russian trainers from the nineties? Anyway, onwards... http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9461/img092j.jpg |
Gnat F, perhaps?
Edit: although it looks quite jugoslav! |
When I first looked my initial thought was an Etendard or Super Etendard. However neither has that kind of curvature to the front cockpit window.
You could be right on Yugoslavia Martin - coffee break soon so I'll take a closer look. |
How about a Grumman F-11 Tiger?
|
I guess it depends on how accurately the artist has 'captured' the subject?
A bigger piece of canvas... http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/4236/img093jp.jpg |
the Yak 36 Forger

For those who prefer older aircraft:

Yakovlev Yak-3 ?
|
I believe the Dog with the razor-sharp Sabre has sliced another challenge. :)
http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/7681/yakax.jpg |
Indeed SD has it, though my ref has it as Yak 9 it sems this feature was present across the range of piston engine Yaks.
|
though my ref has it as Yak 9 Is it too late to say Yak-9 now?...:) |
I'd let it go, like I said this aperture seems to feature across most Yak fighters
|
Terrance, you're a winner with the Yak 3 > 9. You have control....
|
Thank you, Graeme/Harley Quinn.

I've convinced myself this is a 7 cyl radial, but I've never seen such a tight cowling.
Maybe I'm just a numpty? |
I think you are right that it is a 7 cly. radial Harley.
Pobjoy Pirate? |
Gents. :)
Too slow... Looked at the Pirate earlier, but couldn't find a front view. Found one of the Kittiwake, but it's "dimpleless"... http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/6504/img102ud.jpg |
I looked at the Freuller Vals MA, which also has the dimple features, but still looks more like the Pirate. :)
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...012/38-3-1.jpg |
None of the above aircraft,Gentlemen, but follow the seven cylinder engine trail!
|
Reminds me of the Comper Kite.
|
Morning SD :)
I think that I see the reflection of a landing gear strut and the top of an oleo that would fit well with a Westland-Cierva CL 20 ?? Have to Open House if correct as I'm off out now! |
Well done,SincoTC.
It is the Westland-Cierva CL 20 with the 90hp Pobjoy Niagara "S" seven-cylinder air-cooled radial engine. http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...to633/CL20.jpg SincoTc has declared; Open House. |
Thanks Terrence, that was a good challenge :ok:
Still my OH so I'll reclaim it, here's the next one! I understand that there may be additional wire-mesh screens to prevent birds nesting in this retired exhibit :) http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...allenge052.jpg |
G'day mate. :)
wire-mesh screens Immediate thought was the O-47, but that's a large strut at bottom left? Single or multi-engines? |
G'day to you Graeme,
There's only two left out of less than a couple of dozen built, so I guess it is fairly rare and it is multi engine :) |
a large strut at bottom left? Big American multi-engined tail-dragger? |
The tail? Big American multi-engined tail-dragger? |
Not the tail The Northrop Pioneer/Raider? http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/360/img104t.jpg |
Bang on mate!!
It is the Northrop YC-125 Raider http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...rop_YC-125.jpg Noyade has control I'm off to bed now mate, gotta be up in five hours :( Have a Good Day :ok: |

Hope those 5 hrs are intense sleep - dunno how ya do it mate...but if by chance you don't, here's the next... http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3926/img105be.jpg Plan is to make this aircraft a silhouette soon. Cheers. :ok: |
A'rtnoon Graeme,
Looks like a Curtiss V-1570 Conqueror!! I think this may be the Atlantic-Fokker XA-7 prototype of 1931 ?? Open House if correct, I'll try and look back later, but it's a hectic day ahead and may not be able to. |
Atlantic-Fokker XA-7 Open House. |
Mock-up, the actual aircraft differed slightly...
http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/6593/img103zx.jpg May help... See here.... differed slightly http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/981/differentj.jpg |
