It's a Pratt and Whitney R-1535-7 engine.
Circa 1936.
The aircraft is serving with the 118th Observation Squadron Guard.
Photographed in the maintenance hanger at Brainart Field, Hartford.

Douglas O-46A. Additional clues not needed. There were plenty of clues in your initial photograph. Good photo by the way..
