Could you try to make it a bit smaller?!

Maybe a Griffon engined aircraft with folding wings. Seafang?

Zaxis 14th Mar 2014 19:29

66% right but not a Seafang

semmern 14th Mar 2014 23:54

Seafire Mk.47?

Zaxis 14th Mar 2014 23:57

no but kinda close

semmern 15th Mar 2014 00:01

Mk.46 then? ;)

Zaxis 15th Mar 2014 00:14

Not a Seafire or Seafang

If I show any more it will give it away

semmern 15th Mar 2014 00:20

The only other Griffon-powered contra-rotating prop plane I can think of at the moment is the Martin Baker MB5, but that doesn't have folding wings.

Did some marks of Firefly have contra-rotating props?

Noyade 15th Mar 2014 00:42

Sunday afternoon, Australian GP finished on TV, had to find something useful to do.
The picture just had that derelict Russian feel about it. It was the foliage in the bottom right hand corner gave it away.

Double whammy...

top one is a Westland Pterodactyl isn't it?

T'other is a - er - er.

Zaxis 16th Mar 2014 14:59

Sorry, not Pterodactyl
There is a connection between the two

semmern 16th Mar 2014 15:55

Bottom one looks like a Lake Renegade or some variant thereof?

buttrick 16th Mar 2014 16:05

Curtiss seamew

Lake buccaneer?

Zaxis 16th Mar 2014 16:40

Correct on first one... excellent spot.

Second one is not a Lake anything but there is a link with the Seamew. Clue the Seamew had another name.

ORAC 16th Mar 2014 16:53

Shijiazhuang HO300 Seagull

ORAC 16th Mar 2014 16:54

OH if correct. Just passing through.....

Zaxis 16th Mar 2014 17:30

ORAC.... correct.
Common thread was name Seagull..... again. Seamew was Royal Navy name, US Navy name was Seagull.

Open House so anyone got a good challenge ??

semmern 16th Mar 2014 22:10

Hmm..P2V Neptune?

evansb 16th Mar 2014 23:39

Yes. the Lockheed P2V Neptune. Early version. Your turn to post a real good one...

semmern 16th Mar 2014 23:47

TVM.

The crop made this one tiny, so I resized it, but that made it very grainy. Oh well, you'll guess it anyway ;)

Kitbag 17th Mar 2014 06:13

semmern 17th Mar 2014 09:48

Looks like, but it isn't ;)

Zaxis 17th Mar 2014 14:55
