Lightning Mate 13th May 2012 08:51

That exhaust smells a bit like a PT6.

Noyade 13th May 2012 12:49

PT6
Tis indeed mate. Think back to your turboprop DC-3.
This aircraft was originally a submarine hunter. :)

Lightning Mate 13th May 2012 14:09

Possibly the Turbo Firecat.

I'll second that :D

Conair's converted Grumman S-2 Trackers powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprops fit all of Graeme's clues!

Your Thread mate :ok:

Noyade 14th May 2012 07:12

Turbo Firecat.
That's him. Your control mate. :ok:

Lightning Mate 14th May 2012 08:44

Argus As 411 or Renault 12 S engine?

Morane Saulnier MS-477?

Lightning Mate 14th May 2012 13:24

Correct with the engines - both were used.

It's not, however, a Morane Saulnier - this one is a twin.

Right country though. :)

Tupperware Pilot 14th May 2012 14:36

If its a twin then...Focke-Wulf Fw 189?? but that photo is a 3 blade prop.

which means it might have been Sud-Ouest Corse II??

Lightning Mate 14th May 2012 14:44

I have already said that it's French, albeit designed in Germany. ;)

edit - not the Sud-Ouest Corse II.

Ridge Runner 14th May 2012 15:06

Siebel 204? (NC701?)

Edit: usual rules apply if I'm correct.
