Lightning Mate 19th May 2012 16:03

Off we (I) go again then...............

edit: Was it German?

I ask that because I have found something the description of which appears to match the image. It refers to a Dietrich. :\

SincoTC 19th May 2012 17:37

Back on watch!

Not German, but it was operated by them!

sabredog 19th May 2012 18:50

Possibly an RWD-8 ?

Lightning Mate 19th May 2012 19:00

Impossibly I would say, because that had sweepback.

SincoTC 19th May 2012 19:12

Not by RWD sabredog

Lightning Mate 19th May 2012 19:45

After three hours of going around in circles, TC, I think I'll bail out of this one and hope that the night shift might appear.

I'm fairly sure it was from Eastern Europe as we know it.

Sleep well mate. :)

SincoTC 19th May 2012 19:58

It was European, bordering on, but not Eastern!

Sleep well LM :ok:

skytrain10 19th May 2012 21:22

Evening Trevor. From the clues I'm guessing Austrian. So how about the Hopfner HS9/32?

Edit to say, if correct will have to be OH as calling it a night (early start tomorrow)
Good night:ok:

SincoTC 19th May 2012 21:58

Hello Ken and goodnight, sleep well :ok:

It is indeed the Hopfner (Hirtenberg) Hs 9/32 :D

My dear Ridge Runner,

Karlark 20th May 2012 01:25

Here is one to consider for the OH:

I also am curious about the twin boomed one that RR posted, HHH, We have had plenty of time to identify it with no success!!!

Edit: Usual rules apply.... US aircraft....

SincoTC 20th May 2012 08:53

Good morning Karl :)

I've gotta be in and out all day so not much time to trawl :(

Is your challenge a single seat racer? late twenties/thirties?

I'd call it a mid-wing but most racers are what I'd call shoulder-wing.

Maybe the Cessna CM-1 aka MW-1 (Reg X9860)??

I doubt it's that, as all I can find with a quick search is a photo of a kit and I don't think you'd say usual rules if there wasn't many photos on the web!

Gotta go now, try and get back later.

Lightning Mate 20th May 2012 10:10

If Aerofiles is correct, then I reckon it's the GC-2.

SincoTC 20th May 2012 10:12

Back in for a few minutes and had a proper look at Cessna and it looks like it's the Cessna GC-2 ?

Gotta go again, so OH if confirmed or seconded as I'm not sure when I can get back :)

Edit:

Morning again David, I will second that mate, (I didn't look far enough down the list):ugh:

I just found Karl's piccie here, so I'd say it's your thread mate :ok:

Lightning Mate 20th May 2012 10:20

I think you did all the work mate - I just stole it.

I do not accept the win. :)

SincoTC 20th May 2012 11:08

I do not accept the win.
Oh well, gotta keep things moving (I'm still in and out for the rest of the day, but will try to monitor from other computers when I can):)

Edit: to pre-empt the inevitable question as it not obvious from the silhouette issa two-seater

Lightning Mate 20th May 2012 11:17

No questions Your Honour.

Leopoldoff Colibri G-AYKS.

SincoTC 20th May 2012 11:43

Lightning Mate has control! Catchya later :ok:

Lightning Mate 20th May 2012 12:53

Thanks TC.

Whatever you are doing (work I suspect) please get back soon.

Since your previous to last challenge was a parasol, I would like to reciprocate.

SincoTC 20th May 2012 14:35

I'm back :)

That looks familiar!

Edit:

Ah, the Aviatika MAI-223 and the reason it looks familiar is 'coz it's been up before. I put it up for it's second appearance :O and my excuse was that it was too fresh to have been on Mel's list (Pages 1230 and 1244), so what's yours? :p:)
