Well, no skwinty, but you got the drift :ok:

It is a Yank but there is an Italian license involved, and that's why it looks like …….

Skwinty's was the 1,000th response after the first post!!!! Cheers!!!! :ok:

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 12:25

Hey Reg!

S-56 Savoia Marchetti seaplane, but the tail looks different.

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 12:34

Find another one like it (like, like similar, nothing to do with American dialect of English language) :)

HappyPass 19th Aug 2011 12:42

Afternoon.
Anything to do with American Aeronautics S-62?
It has a closed cockpit, at least...:hmm:

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 12:45

How bout'...

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 12:45

No. And mine has an open cockpit. (Edit: That was to HP)

Built by a maker of railroad cars, a budding pioneer in aviation.

Edit: Ach THERE you are Graeme. Was just wondering what kept you…..

Over to you :ok:

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 12:50

Thanks Reg!

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 12:51

Back to Froggie Country, are we Graeme?

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 12:52

Nope.............

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 12:57

Looks like a Mig with the intake blank in place!

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:00

Not a Ruskie.

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 13:02

Wrong tail for Mig - could be a Yak, but wrong background. Graeme, is the challenge the same as the one left in the background?

trucky04 19th Aug 2011 13:03

An F 86 Sabre?

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 13:04

North American FJ-1 Fury

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:05

Not American mate.

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:06

Graeme, is the challenge the same as the one left in the background?
No mate, they're jet trainers in the background.

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 13:09

I'd say not an FJ-1 as its got swept wings. However, the dihedral on the tail counts it out as a swept-wing Fury, I think.

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 13:09

A Gina, perhaps?

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 13:11

A Swift????

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:12

A Gina, perhaps?
Right country mate. :)

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 13:20

Ambrosini Ariete?

That was the "Yak" I was shooting for…..

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 13:22

if it is we've has before

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:22

Ambrosini Ariete?
That is listed twice on Mel's list. No way was I gonnna make it three.

But, you are sooooo close...:)

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 13:23

I know. Grabbing the straws now :uhoh:.

Did we have Ambrosini (Aerfer) Sagittario II before (no time to check!)

Noyade 19th Aug 2011 13:24

Ariete was Ram.
Mine is Archer...........

(Aerfer) Sagittario II
I only looked at AERFER.....

Done!
Yours Reg.

But just looked again. Listed under Ambrosini. I have it only as Aerfer.

Oh well....

Exceptions being pure forgetfulness or absent-mindedness, new and challenging angle, or just to check if others are awake.

Thanks Graeme!

Hadn't budgeted a score, but got carried away…..

OK then. You asked for it:

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 14:12

Was that wing wire-braced on top through a central pylon, and the wires are not visible?

No evidence of conventional lower struts.

I am intrigued why you have blurred the people!

The text behind the reversed picture seems to be in German!

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 14:21

Ariete was Ram.
Mine is Archer...........
We've had both before!

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 14:31

Mate:

It was a cantilever.

Well, I needed to get the people away from under the aeroplane, so I blurred the rest, too. Not very skillfully, I am afraid :\ The "extra" L/G strut should probably not be there. Maybe it was something that one of the guys under the aeroplane had in his hand….

The picture has not been reversed. And the text is not German. The file name says in German "Screenshot" :E.

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 14:35

Sounds like another Photoshop tutorial is in order!

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 14:37

Well, yes………

One of you tutorials said don't touch a low-resolution picture. But I find it refreshing to have pictures like this, (printed source from 1922), to balance out the three-views. Not taking a position against three-views; they are often interesting, too.

And, we are not running out of challenges. This one is from a pretty well known maker.

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 14:48

PM Reg. :ok:

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 14:51

DH 29 Doncaster

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 14:59

Over to you :D

Saw your PM Master. Cool! Next tell me how to do that, please :).

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 15:02

I'll do just that over the weekend. ;)

Going home - catch you very soon.

Ridge Runner 19th Aug 2011 15:30

A Rans, David??

Lightning Mate 19th Aug 2011 16:35

Sadly not Martin.

Abend Reg. :)

RegDep 19th Aug 2011 16:38

Evening Mate.

Unfortunately need to go for a couple of hours and have not given a serious attempt to yours…. :uhoh:

But I see skwinty around to keep you company :)
