What wing?
 

I found some old slides from my dad. One slide I came across shows a wing, but I cannot figure out to what airplane type it belongs to. The picture was taken about 40 years ago. Any experts out there? :)

It looks like a twin piston judging by the wing structure between the inner/outer flap. The aileron/flap mix is not the same as a DC3 but it does look like the C20/C46.
That's my bet.

Going completely the other way - Comet 4B? That panel looks very much like the red panel on the BEA Comets.

Or a Caravelle ?

I agree with HD; it's the wrong shape for a Caravelle and the surface looks too smooth for a piston aircraft, plus the static discharge line and what looks like fuel vent on the trailing edge look right for a Comet.

Thank you for your replies. I found another picture, not sure if it is related to the first one. It shows the cabin, don't know if it is any help.

It doesn't look at all like a Comet to this old Nimrod pilot.

Definitely a swept wing jet but not a Comet. No wing tanks so could then only be a 4B - but the 4B has an enormous wing fence running across the full span - and Comets do not have slotted flaps.

Boeing 737. Probably -200, given the apparant age.

Of course, I could be wrong...

I agree with yellow sun - Comet / Nimrod had no spoilers either. I think Times reader is correct. Interior shot also looks like 737.

Fokker F-28, I'd venture.

Not an F28 twochai, I think they're all 2+2 or max 2+3. I'd go along with Tmesreader, an early model B737.

trident? BAC 1-11?

I'm with MReyn, it is a 727 wing. The angle of sweep back of the wing is not that evident because of the angle of the camera when the picture was taken.

As for the interior shot, looks like a standard Boeing cabin, 707, 727 or 737 cabin to me.

Hand up for 727 here. High speed aileron between inner and outer spoiler panels, and the wing sweep evident between the two groups of spoilers.

I think your probably correct with the 727...but I'll leave it to you pilots to prove it.
