Ignoring the tail, aren't they all single seaters? Also the upper wing chord is too small.

Edit - sorry wasn't reading what you said properly - yes I'm assuming the challenge is a 2 seater.

Think I am going to look through some books over a glass of wine to seek inspiration!
That hasn't worked - time for a 2nd glass!

RegDep 20th Nov 2010 18:23

Tell me why do I get "Consolidated" and "Jimmy Doolittle" and "bombing demo" all the time written on it?

Mostly "Consolidated", though

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 18:27

http://www.aerofiles.com/conso-ny2.jpg :)

I don't think its American - I'm really only saying that because I don't want to go through Aerofiles!

RegDep 20th Nov 2010 18:42

I know what you mean. NY-2 has different tail. But there are similar tails :suspect: there.

Edit; There are also other Hawkers from Hart to Audax to Hartebees to Demon to Hardy to Hind to Osprey. Some of them were licence manufactured and used radial engines, too (like the ones from ASJA in Sweden)

Evening Gents :ok:

None of the above, sorry. Must be clue time.

If we didn't paint these images black, you would recognise the markings as Croatian. That's a 90 kg bomb. It served in WW2.

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 19:35

Morning mate - you've now served to confuse me!

Probably means German or Italian - which is a worry as I went through those earlier today!

Noyade 20th Nov 2010 19:46

For you mate....Yugoslavian.

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 19:47

Rogozarski PVT? Found a description and a picture of it on a model box!

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 19:52

For you mate....Yugoslavian.
Well I was about to retract the Rogozarski PVT as I found a photo and the tail/undercarriage were wrong....don't know now....

Maybe the Rogo etc P-100 - cowl doesn't look right but a variant maybe?

Noyade 20th Nov 2010 19:56

Crikey mate! You got me there....?

Is this the model box....?

http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7...vth6267228.jpg

Certainly looks like it...?

I have it as the Rogozarski R-100

Rogozarski R 100 - L & M Resin

By the powers invested in me, I hereby grant you control, Sir Skytrain! :ok:

Noyade 20th Nov 2010 20:00

I can find the magazine again and scan it in colour and have a closer look? But looks the same to me only with floats?

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 20:04

Hi mate
This was the photo which put me off!

http://www.airwar.ru/image/i/other1/p100-i.jpg

And this was the model box

Hopefully you'll see why I was confused, particularly over the tail.

Anyway good challenge Graeme - shame it was only the 2 of us going for it!

RegDep 20th Nov 2010 20:05

Here is the only one I could find....

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 20:07

You can see why I spent a long time looking at Morane Saulnier aircraft! At least it supports my swept parasol wing theory :)

Stand-by gentlemen

RegDep 20th Nov 2010 20:11

I wa also looking at the M-Ss, trying to find a prototype of something. And these were over 60 built. Awkward :suspect:.

But entertaining, too :).

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 20:13

A biplane to consider:

http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/da56c3aa.jpg

Noyade 20th Nov 2010 20:20

A quick thought before making breakfast...Italian...attempt at a world altitude record?

Noyade 20th Nov 2010 20:24

Another flash...Vickers Vespa...?

skytrain10 20th Nov 2010 20:25

Blimey Graeme - that sounded terribly confident - like "oh, yeah, its that Italian biplane that went for the world altitude record".
Hate to disappoint, but no and no!!
