Not a Bell, but yes, American.

Lightning Mate 27th Feb 2011 17:02

So it's in Aerofiles...?

skytrain10 27th Feb 2011 17:03

Not in Aerofiles :)

I must now go and pack for next week.

Goodbye everyone - if my light stays on it's because I cannot log out, but I will eventually disappear!

RegDep 27th Feb 2011 18:08

Hillberg Rotermouse EH 1-01?

SincoTC 27th Feb 2011 18:41

Good evening gentlemen,

Apologies for absence!! This is the first time since yesterday that I've managed to get past the log-in page, no internet at all yesterday and very slow and unreliable today, the goos news is that at last they've admitted to a line fault and an engineer will be calling Tuesday pm.

Skytrain; you said it was American, but not in Aerofiles, so could it be the Cicare CH-14 Aguilucho ??

On the basis that my broadband router has restarted twice since I logged in a few minutes ago. I must reluctantly ask for an open house if this answer is correct, as there's no way I can consider uploading and monitoring a challenge like this. The router won't even restart without my intervention!

Not one of those RD

Good call Sinco, yes its the Cicare CH-14 from Argentina :ok:

All yours Trevor.

SincoTC 27th Feb 2011 18:50

Thanks Ken,

My Bl:mad:y router just restarted while I was adding my edit and you beat me to it with your judgement, I can't blame the router really as BT admit it's a line fault. I hope to have it fixed soon, but for now it will have to be Open House, sorry guys! Go for it Reg, or "sleeve" as LM would say if he was here!

Gone and back again, noticed I'd made a typo making Reg a clergyman, but only just been able to correct it. I'll try and stay online, but if it goes and I can't get online again as yesterday, my light will have to "Time-out"!

RegDep 27th Feb 2011 19:04

Too easy, I know, but what's the occasion?

http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...27um090920.png

Edit to say that I did not mind being revered by my fellow ppruner .

skytrain10 27th Feb 2011 19:55

It looks like a Voisin Delagrange biplane?

Or maybe the Voisin Standard?

Occasion....anything to do with Houdini?

RegDep 27th Feb 2011 21:05

Yes Skytrain, it is the Harry Houdini's Voisin Biplane, bought in England, in their first flight in Australia.

I am not well enough versed to say whether that was the first motorized flight in Australia, first sustained motorized flight there, or just Harry Houdini's first flight in Australia, but the picture says "first flight in Australia". Maybe there is some controversy on the subject, too....

All yours!

skytrain10 27th Feb 2011 21:18

Thanks RD. Here's one to consider....so which way up is it?

RegDep 27th Feb 2011 22:57

I'll be d***ed.

so which way up is it?
No idea, except probably both :8.

The background is some kind of spectators balcony, like in sports arenas. Maybe something to do with aerobatics or air circus.

Mind-boggling.

Edit to say: If you do this, you probably do anything (assuming that this is not photoshopped)

Could well be, as, not surprisingly the aircraft was used in flying displays. The aircraft could indeed operate using either landing gear!

Like the Harvard/T-6 formatiom - who needs floats!

Closing down for the night now, so good night.

skytrain10 28th Feb 2011 08:08

All quiet so maybe some help is in order. Amazingly this aircraft was adapted from a comparitively well known production light aircraft of the 1930's.

RegDep 28th Feb 2011 08:47

Good morning Skytrain.

Flipping the picture gives a better picture of the original (I suppose), but still in difficulties. Let's see.......

Like this?

Not sure it it helps, although it has revealed whats left of the tail of the original (but its been so altered I don't think it would help). To confuse matters further the original was a high wing machine!

RegDep 28th Feb 2011 09:09

Like that, yes. It's looks seemed to make more sense that way :\.

May it help to assume that this is from the USA and that the original is in Aerofiles? At least I cannot figure out any other nation imaginable producing an idea like this .

skytrain10 28th Feb 2011 09:43

It is from the US and both this aircraft and the original from which it was adapted are mentioned in Aerofiles.

Edit, I was thinking...in its "flipped" form with the upper landing gear removed it would like a crop sprayer....that won't help you at all, but just an observation!

Looks like its just you and me this morning.

SincoTC 28th Feb 2011 10:23

Good morning Ken, 'Tag reg,

Only time for a quick look at coffee break.

I think its the Murphy "Over-and-Under" made from a Taylor E-2 ??

No picture in Aerofiles and no time to look, so it's Open House please if correct, as I'm not going to have much time to spare today.

Back to work now, will try and get back later!
