Cool Woburn Moth Rally pics - part 1

A big to Vintage ATCO for the invite to this one.

Cracking place for photos, this - and a bit of a nail biter watching some of the landings/attempts at landing! Much respect to the pilots for getting in and out safely (glossing over the Tiger Moth - pole argument!).

And congrats to Hairyplane for his first formation display, which isn't pictured here I'm afraid as this is but batch 1 of photos. Batch 2 to follow later this week.

Excellent pics as per usual Damien. Made it to the Rally despite the wedding on Saturday then

There seem to be a lot of non-Moth types there (quite a few Chippies) this year, even a few non-de Havilland types: HP's Maggy, the side by side shiny bipe that I can't remember the name of (Blackburn....?) and was the D-reg bipe a Focke Wulf Steiglitz? I suppose that, with the exception of the latter, thay are all dH Gipsy powered.

Good to see the Neville's Jackaroo was there.

Cracking pics again!

Blackburn B-2 and the German is a Steiglitz - like the shot of the parachutist exiting the Jackaroo! And the comment...

The wedding is this Saturday coming up LowNSlow! More Moths in part two and less honourary Moths...

Cracking pics as usual, Damian B. Did you get me coming in in Chippy SL on Saturday morning? Or the most unusual 'honorary Moth' - the Saunders Roe Skeeter helicopter (Gipsy Major engine, fuel injected to give 220 BHP instead of the standard 145 BHP - must see if we can get one of those for for dear old SL ;~)

Well done to all who worked hard to organise this event, including Vintage ATCO and the Woburn Wireless team.

Afraid I wasn't there on Saturday SSD... didn't see the Skeeter either so I presume it departed Saturday afternoon?
