William Bridgeman- Test Pilot
I have recently read Bridgeman's autobiography 'The Lonely Sky' and I was wondering what became of him? Is he still around or has he departed to the celestial bar?
I have done an internet search but am none the wiser. Can anyone provide some information please?

Unfortunately, he was killed in an aircraft accident. Grumman Goose (I think) landing off Catalina Island...elevator cable broke.
Was well known to the folks at Douglas Aircraft, lived about two miles from us in the 1950's.
A superb gentleman.

'The Lonely Sky' is a must-read classic. If you haven't already done so, get hold of Bill Bridgeman's contemporaries' books: 'Always Another Dawn' by Scott Crossfield and 'The Fastest Man Alive' by Frank Everest.
