Thumbs up A glorious sight in the morning!

A glorious sight in the morning.

I am in KVNY (Van Nuys California) for the weekend staying at the airport hotel. While taking a morning stroll in the parking lot (trying to work off the effects of too many beers last night) I hear the sound of round motors, four to be exact. I look up and see a beautifully restored B-24 overhead turning final apparently landing at KBUR (Burbank Ca.).

Highly polished aluminum skin with nose art and squadron insignia on the rudders. A great sight. I am really happy these old birds are still flying.

Belongs to the Collings Foundation, currently touring the West coast (at BUR until Monday). Should be a B-17 around too.
