AWESOME site that one!
They planned & tested some amazing things all those years ago. In some ways I think we'll still playing catch-up with them.

Bah, that's nothing!

Sorry to be the splitter here, but I have read three interesting books on that subject. I highly recommend these books:

The Peenemunde Wind Tunnels (see here )

Luftwaffe Secret Projects (see here )

Luftwaffe Secret Projects / Strategic Bombers (see here )

I hate to admit it but I am fascinated with the Luftwaffe research and their projects during WWII. It's ironic really if you bear in mind that those were tools for a Nazi regime.

Thumbs up Wings that moved????

It’s really amazing that Messerschmidt had developed a workable swing-wing. Evidently the technology was bombed out of existence or either the Americans or the Russians hijacked the technical expertise. The amazing part is that when MBB was developing the swing-wing on the Tornado they contracted with Grumman to provide the necessary technical expertise and could not handle it themselves.

Lu - as far as I remember from the Me P1101 the wings could only be adjusted on the ground. There's one interesting website out there, check out Warbirds Resource Group

SPIT the Horton did fly! ... errr depends which one your talking about. Check out this site

Don't get paranoid about, I may be banned by camelpilot I already am!
