Sopwith Pup info sought
In 1917 a Sopwith Pup was used on HMS Repulse taking off from a wooden deck mounted upon a gun turret.
For years I have assumed that this would be one of the forward turrets flying into wind which of course required the ship to orientate into an appropriate heading to achieve this.
I have just received a photo for some research that I am doing that suggests that an aft turret was used.
Clearly there are no eye witness accounts available these days, but I am wondering if anyone viewing these forums is able to confirm this detail as it is important in my present project.
Naval historians, over to you. With thanks in advance.

This states the Pup operated from "B" turret, was flown by Rutland.
I believe the B turret is what the USN calls #2 turret, which would be foreward of midships, and higher than the foreward turret.

The Shuttleworth Collection have an airworthy Sopwith Pup, but we don't fly it off a turret! However, someone amongst the Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society might know something, their e-mail is [email protected].
