National Spitfire Monument

https://nationalspitfiremonument.com/about/

The National Spitfire Project is behind the drive to build a new, national monument commemorating an iconic aircraft. With a silhouette that inspired hope and a sound that prompted awe, the Supermarine Spitfire embodied engineering excellence, innovation, and the collaborative efforts of men and women from over 30 Allied nations.

A stainless steel Spitfire, one and a half times the size of the original aircraft, will appear to be rising up from its birthplace, taking flight over Southampton water. The monument will be 40m (131ft) tall – On a par with the scale of the Statue of Liberty and Nelson’s Column– and make a breath-taking sight for the millions of people who visit the UK’s busiest cruise port each year.

The Spitfire Monument promises to be a stunning and dramatic landmark on Southampton’s waterfront, within sight of the original Supermarine factory, the birthplace of this remarkable and legendary aircraft.

This one is pretty good...ignore the bit about infrastructure development, the rest of the locality still looks like a bomb site / land fill site.

Hi, On a busy road traffic island next to the Castle Bromwich factory ( now JLR) main gate, there is a fabulous Spitfire monument & its very popular with locals. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to upload details or pictures

To clarify, your link does indeed go to Wikipedia, but lands on a "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name" page, rather than the interesting article that you intended (for which thanks)

The reason is that the closing bracket of your URL wasn't within the URL tags.

Just trying to help readers find it - it's worth a read.
