Mystery Cockpit
A bit of a giveaway, since both types featured here in the same post on this very thread just a couple of days ago...
Is this thread not some sort of a wind-up?

Looks like there was a hot air connection to the nose for airframe de-icing, or was it just a freight deck heater? Was the wx radar was mounted under the windscreens?
Any retired BAF, Ansett etc posters out there able to add anything?
8 out 21 destroyed in crashes is sobering…

There is certainly one stored at Gainesville Municiple. N89FA, formerly G-ASHZ/Fat Annie with British Air Ferries, I think I recall her as the one I saw flying at "Injun territory" altitude over Kenley Aerodrome around '76 or '77, presumably enjoying a VFR bimble back to Southend from somewhere "out west". Looked and sounded marvellous... I know I saw "Plain Jane" performing a feat of levitation from 08 at Gatters a year or so later - think she also went to the US and was written off.

Carvair - WE HAVE ONE !
Not flown on PPRuNe for a while, but noticed the CARVAIR thread
Our group does indeed have one, well the Cockpit anyway, , recently saved from the bean can man, and now residing very close to its birthplace near Southend.
Those interested can see our site at www.carvaircockpit.co.uk
Its quite a task we have, but things are progressing.
