Well done LR, mystery done and dusted! Presumably that's a Riley 65?

Yes, the legend that's partly obscured by the tip-tank is "Riley Rocket". The extra window is another giveaway.

Ah, forgotten it was the "Rocket" - never seen one in the flesh that I recall, wouldn't have noticed the extra window - but now you mention it...

l/ron, Dave Reid & treadi...... Apologies for bringing in some thread drift. Found the picture of the Riley Rocket interesting.... Just done a little sleuthing.
The Riley 65 and the Riley Rocket are not one and the same..... The Riley 65 is a conversion from a Cessna 310 A B or C. The Rocket is conversion of the Cessna 310 D onward hence swept tail and the "extra" window: that was standard on 310 Ds and onwards... Hope that is correct.... 🤞🤞...
Three Riley 65s were imported by Keegan Aviation who were at one stage based at Panshanger and placed on the UK register.: G-ARRR, G-ASNS & G-ASZZ.... It is possible the conversions were completed in this country...
N656R remained on the US Register until it was cancelled on 14 July 2011.
