Croydon Airport hotel apparently in difficulties

Fears iconic Croydon hotel could close as 'Christmas party cancelled' (msn.com)

Would be a shame to lose Croydon Airport Hotel. Not only for the current hotel as for its history, this is where much of 1920s UK aviation was planned, discussed, observed, stayed in until the weather improved, etc.

I wonder what impact it will have on the museum in the historic terminal next door.

I do believe the overall old airport site suffers from divided local authority responsibilities. The old terminal and hotel are in Croydon, but hard up against the borough boundary, most of the old airside is in Sutton.
