The above link shows D-ABOB being scrapped which is in Lufthansa colours but the web shows D-ABOB in Condor colours and still in service 2022.
Are the reg numbers re-used?

I think the 707 only got painted with the registration when it was stored at Hamburg and used as a training exhibit for the LH maintenance facility there, and was D-ABOD when it was in service with LH. The original D-ABOB was Lufthansa's first 707 and had the name "Hamburg", which is probably why the scrapped 707 got that registration. It made its last flight in 1975 for a movie, and I don't know if it was registered as ABOD or ABOB at that time. But at least since then, it wasn't "officially" registered as D-ABOB, as the Condor 757-300 was delivered with that registration in 1999.

PS: There was also D-ABOC, the 707 in LH colors that was scrapped at Berlin Tegel recently. It never flew for LH and was apparently a gift by Boeing to the city of West Berlin when LH bought their 200th Boeing jet. At that time, LH was not allowed to fly to West Berlin. So when Boeing flew it in under the cover of darkness, and removed the stickers covering the airline name, the next morning people were surprised to see a Lufthansa plane appear at Tegel.
Airliners in Germany (and other heavy aircraft) are all registered in the D-Axxx sequence, and Lufthansa choose to use the letter after the "A" to identify the manufacturer.
So LH's Boeings over the years have normally been D-ABxx, hence they commonly need to re-use registrations.

Presume D-AI was Airbus Industry, recall the DC-10s were D-AD** but all ended in O, and some of the 727s all ended in I.
