Now have WZ557's history. Hoping to establish a few confirmatory details about the aircraft markings. At one point with 5FTS she carried the number 44 on the nose. Can anyone confirm if 5FTS Vampires had a rectangular border surrounding the number (some other FTS did this) and if so what was the border colour? I have seen some from other FTS with red borders but would it have been in another colour ,possibly a flight or squadron colour?
