Peter Cleve BOON (1311816 / 196461) Mustang Pilot

Hi All

I'm trying to chase another No.1690 B(D)TF chap. I can find little about his career before he joined No.65 Squadron on 7th February 1944 as, unfortunately, the ORB does not state where he arrived from. I do know that he was shot down near on 27/06/1944, while flying on armed reconnaissance sortie with No.65 Squadron over Dreux in Northern France. He was then taken to Front-Stalag 221 (aka Rennes Military Hospital) and was, presumably, released when that establishment was liberated in early August 1944. I can't find anything about him again, except that he was awarded the DFM at some point, until he is recorded as having been re-posted to No.1690 B(D)TF, on commissioning w.e.f. 02/04/1945. He survived the war and served as a F/Lt in the RAF until, I believe, the late 1950's.

As always, I will greatly appreciate any advice or help offered.

Cheers, Andrew
