Red Pelicans JP Rochester Airshow. 1963-73

As a teenager I remember seeing the Red Pelicans displaying at a Rochester airshow in the period 1963-73.Several other long term Rochester residents have confirmed this to be the case. What is notable is that they operated into and displayed from the grass runway (maximum length about a 1000 yards) at Rochester I remember this clearly and exceptional even at that time. Can any expert tell me which year(s) this occurred? Regards Stampe.

I can't find my list of shows at the moment , but the team was definitely at the International Air Rally at Rochester on 26 September 1964, being their last show of season. They also 'landed on grass' at Bembridge once or twice, and I recall that I accompanied them to Halfpenny Green in 1968 and they had to land on the green stuff! Fun days!
