They (being two sheds) are going up alongside the existing KLM Engineering ones. That's behind the old eastern apron.
I think the former Bristow hangers have/are being taken down.
Incidentally, work is also progressing on the Air Ambulance hangar on the western side as well.
Going back a little, I think the original main run way was 04/22. This points directly into the centre of Norwich city, which lead to some nasty incidents in WW2.
Now this is used for aircraft parking, with 09/27 being the only runway.

The "old" Air UK hangar, the number escapes me, (the one on the right as you go through the security gate), used to hold a small event annually. This hangar was the location of the last Glen Miller concert held for the USAF before he was sadly lost over the channel shortly afterwards. Every year a small group of people used to arrive, put up a couple of tables in the corner of the hangar with photos and bits and pieces on them, and play Glen Miller music for an hour or so. I don't know when they stopped doing this, but I am sure that they still did this up to about 1982 if not later.
The photos were interesting, they showed the familiar inside of the hangar, but with Liberators and not F27s on jacks.

Gosh - I hadn't realised that Glenn Miller had performed in that hangar. Several times I've cranked those massive doors open at the beginning of the day. (In the early seventies). Something magical about having the Operations Office adjacent to the hangar floor.

That was 2 Hangar. It was AirUK's main hangar for quite a few years but they vacated it when hangar 8 was completed. Hangar 2 also used to house 74 Squadron back in the St Faith days. The old AirUK stores office used to have the 74 Sqn tiger on the wall. I took these photos in 2003. I don't know if the artwork survives today
When I started at Air Anglia in 1971 we had one DC3 only (G-AMPZ) and we used this shared hangar. Our tiny offices can be seen on the r/h side. Later the company moved over to the hangar opposite from where this photo was taken. Sorry about poor quality of image.
