Floatplanes at Downtown Skyport NY, 1936

I stumbled across this photo at an exhibition recently and got to wondering what I was looking at.

I looked up the registration of the biplane in the foreground and this came back as a Waco YQC-6 (see here: Civil Aircraft Register - United States)

Does anybody know what the other type is?

I wouldn't have thought of the Fairchild 24, thanks for that. For some reason I always associate that type with the Ranger-engined variant only.

Edit: and I agree on the amphibian, that's a Sikorsky S-39.
