If Kiwis can get three of them flying again (with more to come), surely you Brits who built them in the first place can achieve the same?

You cannot fly them in the UK unless they have been stuck together with horses hoof glue. It has to be original; these modern epoxy resins are not acceptable.

So none of the Kiwi rebuilds/restorations will ever be allowed to fly in UK airspace?

We have a governing body in the UK called 'The CAA' - 'The Company Against Aviation'.
Their remit is to ensure that us Brits do not enjoy aviation.
Need I say more!!

A bit like Sea Furies being unable to fly in the UK unless they have a Centaurus. The air must be different in the US, where they bolt on P&W engines.

I keep hearing that one of the Mossies in Avspecs' queue is destined for the UK, hope that is indeed the case.

I think that there are two potential projects on the go. https://www.thewoodenwonder.org.uk/ have contracted Avspecs to build one in New Zealand whilst the Newsletter Signup - The People's Mosquito seem to be planning on building the whole think here, including the fabrication of new molds to build the fuselage. Both prjects are working with the CAA to get around the glue problem.

Glues and engines, just prove that its airworthy and the CAA will give you permission to fly. Any change of that sort is called a 'modification' (or 'Change' in EASA-land) and there is a very well proven process for gaining approval, and its not that difficult.
