Locally Argosies could only go into Riyan.
Not to decry the RAF, but Aden Airways DC3s could show them a thing or two.
I was a commercial civilian there 64-67 and travelled widely. I've got 35 ninutes of silent film now on dvd with several aerial shots from DC3s. Must learn how to put it on Youtube.
The shots of Thumeir brought a wry smile to me - I used to drive by the wire in an Arab Land Rover on the way up to Dhala.

Don't know what you infer about the Aden Airways DC3s versus the Argosy, Wings? Other than their hosties were very tasty - one of my squadron mates married one.

Found this lengthy and rather delightful compilation of Tiger Club cine films from the 50s/60s/70s which has recently been uploaded to YouTube - well worth a gentle peruse when you have some time to spare. Several well known faces lurking within!
Great find,Treadders...even Michael J in suit and tie; must`ve been for the DoE`s visit to fly the Turbulent...few names,faces,`old flames`...just how `lightweight` airshows were/should be.....any idea of what the background music is...? can`t find a credit for it...

Here's another little gem to take the edge of Lockdown...

At about 11:00, I noticed that as the Sunderland skipper increased power, the mixture controls moved automatically.

The participants in the film were active RAF officers, NCOs and aircrew, and RN officers. The film featured pilot Roger Hunter and Flight Sergeant Charles Norman Lewis. On 25 August 1942, Lewis was killed on a flight that Prince George, Duke of Kent was undertaking as a morale-boosting mission to Iceland.

The Wing Will Fly
I've just watched in its entirety (1h38) this wonderful 1991 video on Jack Northrop's flying wings:
At 27:45 there are some shots of the N-9MB being restored for Planes of Fame. I was lucky enough to see this amazing aircraft at Chino in 2015, in the same hangar as the Bell YP-59A Airacomet, which was being restored for flight.
Here is a nice video of the N-9MB flying at Chino:
Unfortunately it crashed in 2019:

The Forces network just came out with "A Tour of the RAF's Top 10 Planes". Each one has an embedded video on the subject aircraft as well as an illustrated potted history.
