From the fence

Hello Everybody, I have a little personal project.

I'm looking for as many pics as possible from now-shut bases showing the airfield in operational use (from a spotter's / fence position so to speak). Views across the airfield that if visited now, would allow me to imagine what they would have looked like in their heyday. I'm 27 and thus didn't get a chance to see them as working, living military airfields. Those that spring to mind but not limited to........ Binbrook / West Raynham / Coltishall / Leconfield / waterbeach / Oakington / Watton / Manby / etc etc. The list goes on.

Shots of aircraft-only in frame or airshow static are aplenty on the web but for example, very few and far between are of aircraft with the airfield in shot (say stood at the end of the runway). Can anybody help satisfy my interest? I'm a member of Airfield Information exchange but not much in the way of what i'm asking is posted. Thanks to all that can help!

Strike 1! Play ball. Thanks! This is good Dook.

Runway overlooking airfield (I.e If I found the equivalent spot today I could imagine a then and now) would be great!

If you had stood beside the runway at Leconfield you would have captured pictures like this:
