Shackleton fly-past 1952.

I have some photographs of a Shackleton flypast on the occasion of the Queen’s Birthday in 1952 and have often wished that I could get a live sound recording of the event. 72 R.R Griffons all together at a couple of thousand feet! Imagine my astonishment when I watched the opening scenes of episode 7 of the first series of “The Crown” and there we all were! Some extra aircraft had been magicked onto the screen, the date was apparently 1940 and we were flying over Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace but it was without any doubt filmed in 1952 in Central London. And the sound is great.
