Lancaster PD214

There is a nice story in todays Sunday Express on Lancaster PD214

Bomber heroes in Germany are remembered

THE souls of six Second World War airmen who disappeared on a bombing mission were laid to rest on Thursday.

By DAVID JARVIS

Germans have erected a memorial to the crew of a Lancaster, which vanished returning from a night raid on October 6, 1944.

Relatives solved the mystery.

The memorial is in a German field after they discovered the plane crashed there and not in the North Sea as thought.
