Blackburn B2

Oddly enough, I recently came across this photograph in my files. It is an official Royal Air Force photograph, and on the reverse is stamped ' R.A.F. OFFICIAL 18 Jul 1970 R.A.F. LECONFIELD'. There is a slip of paper also attached on the reverse, on which the following words are printed '"Steady" Blackburn B2 side slipping'.

I presume it is the same aircraft.

Used to love watching that fly at the old Hatfield open days.

Saw it at the Farnborough Air Show in 1964! Glad it's still flying.

Side by side seating in a trainer may have been a step too far for the services in those days!

HD,

Me too. How come we didn't bump into each other?

I thought that it was a lovely aircraft. I have always felt that side-by-side is better for ab-initio instruction but doubly so for passengers. A much better experience for both pilot and passenger.
