Aviation Documentaries!

Just a heads up to let everyone know that the Freeview movie channel, Movies4men, are showing an aviation program every morning from 08:00 to 09:15. For example, today's was about the Tornado, tomorrow is about the C-130 and Thursday is about the Vickers Wellington. On Thursday and Friday at 03:20 there are two programs (parts 1 and 2) about the Avro Shackleton. I watched this one and if you had anything to do with the Shackleton, you will find it quite nostalgic. It is quite a recent documentary, having been made in 2013.

The programs include other subjects, for example at 02:25 on Friday, there is one called Panzer, which is about Germany's tanks and includes input from WWII veterans.

Cheers for that! I have Freeview but have not noticed Movies4Men, what channel is it on? Perhaps I need to re-tune my TV!

From TVWise

Sony’s specialist film channel Movies4Men has now launched nationwide on the Freeview platform.

Movies4Men was previously only available on Freeview in Manchester, but is now available nationwide on channel 48. The time-shift service Movies4Men+1 is also on the move to channel 50, but will remain restricted solely to Manchester Freeview.

The SPT backed channel, a counterpoint to Sony’s female skewing Sony Entertainment Television, airs a range of movies across the Action, Western and War genres with such films as Saints and Soldiers, Man About Town, Fort Apache and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. In addition to Freeview, Movies4Men is also available on Sky (Channel 325) and Freesat (Channel 304).

SKY discovery history are running a series at present on British aviation. Yesterday was VC10/Trident.

They will no doubt be endlessly repeated so if your interested do a search.

Most of these documentaries are repeats on the Sky channels and bound to do the rounds again especially on the Discovery channels. The hardest thing is finding out exactly when they are being scheduled regardless of how many times they've been shown.
