Thanks for the offer, but it isn't desperation, just a matter of interest.

I'd have thought P38 beats P1, but then I'm old enough to remember seeing 'em when they were new. And saw some in a scrapyard in PNG 40-odd years later.

Twas the Brits who gave the P-38 the tag "Lightning". The cousins wanted to call it the "Atalanta" at first, but realised the Brits had a gift when it came to giving their aircraft names.
