AIR2000 27 years today
A great airline, led by an innovative team which revolutionised the charter scene by introducing legacy standards of service and generated a marvellous esprit de corps amongst the troops
One of the best things that happened to me in aviation was Air 2000, certainly in the days before Neil left.
Maybe it is about time we tried to get the 'big scots guy' to organise another reunion?

Full hot breakfast/lunch/dinner was standard. Hot towels - yes. Bucks Fizz - not sure as we weren't allowed to drink when flying
Remind me how long did Orion last?

Had Horizon (who owned Orion) not been bought out then Orion would probably have lasted a deal longer, though with the general nosedive in services levels on bucket and spade carriers I fear the "legacy standards" would have gone by the board at some stage whatever.

They came, they went and very few have managed what Monarch has done.48 years this year as 'The Monarch' (how much has that call sign annoyed you over the years). Often derided, but a survivor. Here's to you Monarch and the 37 years I spent with the Spotty M.

Tempsford,
It's a rumour that's been doing the rounds since I was young.
When I was young Monarch were operating a clapped out fleet of the likes of B720's and BAC1-11's, pray tell me how they have managed to outsurpass so many of their betters unless there is some truth to the rumour of them being a money laundering operation?
