Looking for information on Lancaster Rear Gunner Charles Victor Bass DFC
Dear All,
I am new to this forum and was hoping you might be able to help me with some research on my Wife's Grandfather Charles Victor Bass. Charles was a rear gunner in a Lancaster and flew over 50 sorties both over Europe and Africa during WW2 as well as receiving the DFC.
I don't have a huge amount of oer information to hand although I'm hoping to take a look a his log books in the next couple of weeks.
I also recently visited Lincolnshire aviation heritage centre and was lucky enough to have a taxi ride in 'Just Jane' which was a brilliant experience and put these young men's bravery in a whole new context.
Best,
Will Gilbert

Bit more information - Charles squadrons were 142 & 195.
If anyone has any information that might be of interest it would be great to hear from you.
Cheers,
Will
